THE GREAT DORSET STEAM FAIR 1995

Another great road run - this time five engines collecting a 35 ton Sherman tank from the Tank Museum at Bovington Camp. The great Pickford trailer used for diplay by the Scammells is reunited with it's original Pickford tractor units to be presented as an authentic Pickford heavy transport outfit of the 1950s - very unique. The military section runs their numerous tracked and wheeled exhibits across a very dusty " assault course and our commentator Jerry Burr aims a few 25 pounders at Wiltshire. The mineature steamers put on slick wood loading . The horse drays deliver the beer the real way. The heavy Haulage lads let their hair down on Saturday night and the last of Roger Burville's traditional Christmas shows takes place at midnight. The special theme:  The portable Engines.
